About the Project

Our role was to define the CO2 footprint of the proposed new Block at Dame Alice Owen’s School in Potters Bar, in order to demonstrate compliance with Part L2A and produce an EPC for the building.

We were also asked to perform overheating and fresh air ventilation simulations in accordance with BB 101, and Peak heating and cooling load calculations to assist in the sizing of main plant and heating/cooling emitters.

A dynamic simulation model was produced using EDSL TAS software using the architectural and services information provided. From this one model we was able to calculate the carbon emissions, extent of overheating and the amount of fresh air entering the building through the opening windows.
